The 2017 Swimming and Water Carnival was a huge success. The event was held across two sites, with swimming races and events being held at Palmwoods Pool, and water events, activities and communciation games being held at the school. This enabled an inclusive carnival day, with all students engaged at a level, and in an environment, to meet their individual needs.
The students attending the more formal swimming carnival at Palmwoods Pool showcased their improved swimming skills, and even though it was pretty chilly out of the water, everyone participated in their races. It was a day to see our You Can Do It values in action, with a lot of students demonstrating confidence and persistence as they pushed themselves to do their best in their races.
The students attending the water carnival enjoyed a range of activities, including non-competitive races in the school pool, water games, communication games based around water and general good fun. It provided an opportunity for students to practice and demonstrate a range of skills, from swimming, to social skills and communication, in a different setting.
Thank you to everyone who assisted in making both carnival such a success.
