Tuesday evening Nambour Special School teachers attended a 'twilight session'
as part of the school's professional development opportunities. The first
part of the evening was focussed on 'Emergent Literacy'. This session
provided staff with valuable information and practical applications for
engaging students in literacy, with a particular focus on students in the
emergent literacy phase. This professional development was delivered by our SLP Megan Jackes and
our Junior School Coordinator Sarah Kayess. The
second part of the evening was completing the next part of our KidsMatter
training. Kidsmatter is a mental health and wellbeing framework.
This training was delivered by our HOC Michelle Stockton and KidsMatter Project
Officer Craig Reid. Nambour Special School has a commitment to currency
of knowledge and innovative practice.
