Nambour Special School’s STEP Program (Supporting Transition through Engaging Partnerships) delivers transition focussed education to students in their final two years of school. The STEP Program curriculum focusses on meeting individual needs through and EARN or LEARN Pathway. Students enrolled in the STEP Program have a SETPLAN that drives the school curriculum and ensures that individual student goals are met. The SETPLAN provides a coordinated response by school and community partners to provide appropriate transition opportunities for students in the Transition Phase of their education.

Nambour Special School has developed close relationships with a number of community agencies to ensure the needs of all students are met. The community partners are as follows

The COMPASS Institute offers a range of opportunities on the Sunshine Coast to support leisure and lifestyle through to work opportunities.

ENDEAVOUR provides young adults with a range of services on the Sunshine Coast from leisure and lifestyle to a supported employment service in a number of areas in the region.

EPIC Employment offers supported work opportunities to students who are capable of working a minimum of 8 hours per week upon leaving school.

House With No Steps (HWNS) offers a range of services from leisure through to employment opportunities in the Noosa area of the region.

STEPS Employment offers supported work opportunities to students who are capable of working a minimum of 8 hours per week upon leaving school.

Sunshine Coast Independent Living Service (SCILS) provides lifestyle support for adults with a disability that ranges from leisure opportunities to supported living.

Nambour Special School Partners show a commitment to improving student outcomes and providing transition opportunities to students whilst still attending Nambour Special School.
